The Vagus Nerve is like a "superhighway" between your body and brain. Chronic stress sends constant signals that your body is in a "stress" state, making it harder to return to "rest".
With Vagus Nerve massage, I use gentle techniques and work with the breath to send signals from your body to your brain & nervous system, letting them know you are safe and can move into a "rest" state. This isn't about forcing relaxation, but creating the right conditions for your body.

Hi - I’m Vicki, massage therapist & person behind Freedom of Movement.
I began my journey in massage through sports and deep tissue work, releasing muscle tension and improving joint mobility. Over time, I noticed many clients who weren't just sore or tight - but were stuck in "stress" mode, their nervous systems out of balance. That sparked my interest in Vagus Nerve work and techniques to help the body move from "stress" to "rest & recovery".
As a busy mum, trail-runner and lover of the outdoors, I've experienced firsthand how life's demands can leave your body and mind stuck in "stress" mode. I find balance through running in nature, wild swimming and mindful movement - and I bring that same understanding and care to my clients.
My approach combines deep knowledge of the body (I'm a bit of an anatomy geek), intuition and nervous system science. Each session is tailored to your needs in the moment, whether that's releasing tension, restoring mobility or supporting your nervous system. I also provide practical tools and guidance so the benefits continue beyond the massage table.
